Program Details

The Y works to ensure that youth not only have access to affordable, quality, before and after school programming but are also in a safe and nurturing environment protected by caring adults. Our before and after-school program provides a practical childcare option for families. Youths will receive homework assistance and participate in activities that keep them active and productive before school begins and when the school day ends.

We are value-driven! What does that mean? Our before and after school program strives to instill the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

We offer nutritious snacks each day at the YMCA. Each day, the kids will receive a snack that includes two major food groups (i.e. fresh fruit or veggie, milk or dairy cheese and crackers or grain, etc.)

Children are allowed to bring their own snacks to School Age Care program, but are asked to not bring nuts. Check with site staff for information on possible food allergies in the environment.

During Day Camp and on School’s Out Fun Days, The Family YMCA in partnership with the Child Adult Care Feeding Program will provide breakfast, lunch, and a snack. If you send your child to program with their own food, we can not refrigerate or heat up your child’s lunch, so please send a thermos or cold pack to ensure that food is kept at proper temperature.

Children should come to the Y program appropriately dressed for activity. This includes

  • Snow gear in the winter
  • Parents are encouraged
to send a change of clothes with their child in the event of a restroom accident.
  • Under no circumstances are YMCA staff allowed to clean/change a child who has had a restroom accident.
  • All children are required to wear closed toed shoes.

Children will not be allowed to bring items from home unless instructed by staff for special occasions/programming. We supply our programs with developmentally appropriate equipment to meet the needs of the children. If a toy from home gives your child a sense of security, please speak to staff from the youth development department prior about bringing the item to the program.

The YMCA is not responsible
for any lost, stolen or
damaged items.
