Program Description
The YMCA of Black Hawk County has a vision that all children and youth participate in recreational activities in our community. To make this vision a reality, we have created Together We Play. With a little creativity, we work with our partner agencies and parents to help children and youth with disabilities to be successful in whatever leisure activity they choose. We think of ways to modify activities to meet individual needs and train agency staff to include the child. We work with partners throughout our community so that children and youth of all ability levels can be welcomed, included, and valued at the following agencies:  The Black Hawk County YMCA, Cedar Falls Parks and Recreation, First United Methodist Church-Cedar Falls, Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, Grundy Family YMCA, Hearst Center for the Arts, St. Edwards Catholic Church, Sturgis Youth Theatre, UNI Paddling Panthers, United Sport and Athlete, Waterloo Center for the Arts, Waterloo Leisure Services, Wartburg/Waverly Sports & Wellness Center (the W), and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
