1,000 DAYS OF SUMMER
Just $50 will send a child to camp for a day – a day in which he or she will learn, laugh, play and develop life-long skills…
… meet a new life-long best friend,
… keep her body and mind active,
… explore his passion for creative expression,
… gain tools for making healthy choices when eating,
… discover new things about himself and the world around him,
… have fun and enjoy being a kid!
Will you Give a Day?
Research shows that children from low-income households have tendencies to experience summer learning loss because they lack exposure to learning activities during summer months. With your support, no child is turned away from the opportunities of summer camp due to an inability to pay.
Last summer, the Black Hawk County YMCA served hundreds of children in enriching programs that helped decrease summer learning loss. Parents and teachers reported an increase in preparedness and strong gains in areas such as reading.
The best part? The fun factor! Kids are learning, growing and thriving in fun, adventurous summer activities that nurture spirit, mind and body.
