20/20 Membership Program

When you join the Y with a friend, you’ll both enjoy an exclusive 20% membership savings on the standard membership rate each month as long as you both remain members.

What is the 20/20 Membership Program?

It is a membership program that allows our existing members and new members to refer friends and family to join the YMCA.  When someone helps us to create a healthier community by referring a member, you’ll both enjoy an exclusive 20% membership savings on the standard membership rate each month as long as you both remain members. This offer is also valid to two non-members who would like to sign up together!

Why are we starting the 20/20 Membership Program?

The Y is a cause driven organization dedicated to strengthening the communities we serve through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Surely we cannot achieve such an important mission alone, so are calling on all our members to be part of our vital goal. We know that individuals who choose to live a healthier lifestyle are more successful when behavior change is done with others, friends, family or teammates. The launch of our 20/20 Membership Program aims to bring all members to the forefront as advocates for healthier living, both personally and in the community. Beyond the benefit of encouraging a support system and enhanced motivation, we are offering the 20/20 Membership Program to our members, new and old who take up our mission. The Y is asking all members to help us in making our community healthier by inviting their friends and family to join them at the Y.

How do I get started?

To join the 20/20 Membership Program, the new joining member needs to identify the current Y member when signing up for membership and have a membership application form filled out. If you are two new members joining our Y, both individuals need to bring in a new membership application in to the Y.

Does my friend/family have to be with me to join?

We make joining super easy so they don’t have to be with you, we just need their complete name and personal information. You can find our membership application online and bring the completed form to the Y.

Who is eligible to participate in this program?

Active full facility Young Adult, Adult, Adult Couple, Senior, Family and Senior Couple membership on monthly draft are eligible to participate in the program. We also welcome interested community members to join the YMCA!

Can I refer more than one friend or family member?

Yes, you can refer up to 3 friends or family members to the Y. Although you will not receive an additional savings, as long as one remains active you will continue to enjoy the 20% savings.

How long is this reduced rate valid?

The reduced rate received from participating in the member benefit program is good for as long as both parties remain members. Should one of you cancel your membership, the remaining member has thirty (30) days to refer another friend or family member to join. If the remaining member does not refer another friend or family member to join (and the referred person join) within 30 days, the reduced membership rate will return to the standard rate for the specified membership type.

Will the 20/20 Membership Program rate ever increase?

20/20 Membership Program rate will only increase if future membership rates increase. The membership rate will reflect a 20% savings on whatever the current standard membership rate is. To view current membership rates, click here.

I am joining the Y as a new member in the 20/20 Membership Program. Do I have to pay a joining fee?

Yes, new members joining through the 20/20 Membership Program are subject to the standard joining fee.

I referred my friend and my friend joined. When do they receive their reduced rate?

The 20/20 Membership Program rate will go into effect when the referred membership is purchased. The 20/20 Membership Program rate for your membership will be reflected in the billing cycle following the join date of the friend or family you refer to join the Y.

Can I add a new family member to my membership and receive the 20% savings?

Adding a new family member(s) to your membership is considered a membership upgrade and does not qualify for 20/20 Membership Program rates.

I am currently receiving financial assistance. Can I refer a friend for this program?

Yes. We encourage all of our members to take this opportunity and help us to make our community a healthier place to live. Should your friend or family member decide to join they will receive the 20/20 Membership Program rate for the membership category they select. Your membership will remain at your standard financial assistance rate or be reduced to the 20/20 Membership Program rate for your current membership type, whichever savings is greater. As always, if finances are a barrier, anyone can apply for financial assistance for membership.

Can I put my membership on hold?

Members in the 20/20 Membership Program may put their memberships on hold for a maximum of 3 months following all other branch hold policies.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my membership if I am part of the 20/20 Membership Program?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your membership as long as both members retain an eligible membership type. The upgrade will not be included in the 20% off discount, it will remain at the full rate.
