Family Time

One of our priorities at the Family YMCA of Black Hawk County is to strengthen families. We offer activities and events to promote quality time for families to spend together. We post details about our annual family events on Facebook when it gets closer to each event. Check out some of our favorite events:

Fall Harvest Festival

Families are welcome to join us for a FREE Halloween Harvest Festival! Come enjoy face painting, games, prizes and more in a family-friendly environment. All ages are welcome. Costumes are optional, but encouraged! This event takes place in the end of October

Healthy Kids Day

On a Saturday afternoon in April, we hold a free community event to inspire kids to keep their minds and bodies active at the annual YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day®, the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families. Healthy Kids Day is an opportunity to ignite children’s imaginations so that they can imagine what they’ll accomplish in the summer. The event features activities such as demonstrations and performances, games, healthy cooking lessons, arts and crafts, and STEM activities, to encourage kids to keep moving and learning all summer long.
