Family YMCA of Black Hawk County

YMCA announces temporary closure to help “slow the spread”.

Dear Black Hawk and Grundy YMCA Members,

The safety and well-being of our members, staff, volunteers and the broader Cedar Valley community is our priority, now more than ever. Thank you for being part of the Y and for all you are doing to support the greater good as we all face this unprecedented health challenge.

We are following the proclamation of Governor Reynolds for all fitness facilities to close by 12pm today. This temporary closure will have very real financial consequences, however, we are working on ways to respond to the community needs that will arise from this public health crisis. We will rely heavily on the continued support of members, program participants and donors. Therefore, we respectfully ask that you partner with us if you are able by continuing to pay your monthly Y membership dues and program fees. This will ensure the Y is able to provide services when this crisis has passed. If you are unable to continue, member services staff will be available to assist Black Hawk and Grundy members by phone 319-233-3531 from 9am-12pm each weekday through March 30th, and will gladly speak with you about other options.

We continue to closely monitor this situation to determine the need for any changes to this plan, and will continue to keep you updated via our website.
