YMCA’s 150th Birthday Celebration

Join the Family YMCA of Black Hawk County in celebrating our 150th Birthday in the Cedar Valley!

When: Friday, March 1st from 5-10 pm

Where: Five Sullivan Brother’s Convention Center in Downtown Waterloo

Why: 150th Birthday Celebration

Schedule of Events 

5 pm: Performances by Allison’s Dance Center
5:35 pm: Performance by the Crusaders
5:45 pm: Entertainment by local performers: Tatum Talbert, Daniel Mitchell, Brooke Dunn and Felicia Smith-Nalls
6:30 pm: Official Birthday Celebration and Mayoral Proclamations by Mayor Quentin Hart and Mayor Jim Brown
6:45 pm: Announcing winner of free family membership for a year
7-10 pm: Entertainment by Sideshow Bob

Kids Activities
From 5-8 pm, kids can enjoy inflatables, face painting, a balloon artist and arts and crafts.

YMCA Info Booth
Have questions about the Y? Visit our info booth. We also have YMCA Raygun shirts for sale for $15 (cash only).

Concessions
Food is available all night for purchase in the Galley. Cash bar is open from 7-10 pm in the main hall.

Through this event, our Y will be able to celebrate all of the strides we have made toward strengthening our community in the past 150 years. We also hope to look to the future and how we can continue to grow and change with our community to greater serve the Cedar Valley. We invite community members of all ages to come celebrate with us.
